Seasonal Help Wanted

Help Wanted: The City of Sidney, Iowa is accepting applications for a full-time Public Works Employee. This position includes all aspects of a municipal public works department, including but not limited to, water and sewer operations, snow plowing, mowing and maintenance of city facilities. Water/Wastewater certifications preferred but willing to train right candidate. Experience in general maintenance, minor reports, operation of lawncare equipment, heavy equipment, dump truck, loader and skid steer are desired. Must possess high school diploma or GED. Post offer physical, drug/background screens required. Some weekends/ holidays required. Salary dependent upon qualifications and experience. The City of Sidney will be hiring a Seasonal Employee beginning in June through the end of August. The hourly wage will be $12.00 to $15.00 depending on experience. Applications may be picked up at City Hall in Sidney or downloaded at www.sidneyiowa.org and must be returned to City Hall by 12:00 p.m. May 10, 2024.

Description of duties: lifting at least 75 pounds, weed trimming and mowing, maintenance at city pool and city park, patch streets, maintenance work at city library, and other duties established by the Mayor and City Council.
